When I got up from the floor I saw a poster saying "Embrace the Era of Good Feelings!!!". I remembered that The Era of Good Feelings was during Monroe's presidency. There were no major conflicts between political parties, because the Federalist party had disbanded. The Democratic-Republicans were in power. Another poster next to it had a picture of President Monroe and under it explained the Monroe Doctrine. Basically the Monroe Doctrine was established in 1823 by our 5th President James Monroe claiming that European Nations such as Spain, Great Britain, France, Portugal, and others cannot establish colonies throughout the Americas. It was kinda of like us telling Europe to stay out our business (All of the Americas), we can manage our own nations and we do not need your help, so in a sense the Monroe doctrine protected the independence of nations throughout the two continents of South and North America from European Rule. I was very keen in meeting President Monroe, but before I could make my way to the White House I was unknowingly taken to the next major event in American History.
